Questions and Answers of CD Secretary (中文版)

    CD secretary is a very useful tool to manage(catalog,find) movable media(such as CD,DVD,movable hard disk,zip disk or hard disk) in home,library,school,company,etc.

Q1:Error message “Invalid file format.……” when program start.

This error is occured when the DEP is active for all program. Following this:

A.Computer(Right click)->Properties->System protection->Advanced->Performance->Settings->Data
Execution Prevention->Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only(Checked)
->Apply.See "Img1.jpg".Restart your Windows to run the CD Secretary.

B.Usually, the problems will be fixed. but if not, following next:

C.Start Menu->Programs->CD Secretary 2008->CD Secretary 2008(Right Click)
->Compatibility->Compatibility mode->Run this program in compatibility mode for->Windows XP(Service Pack 2)->Apply.See "Img2.jpg".

D.If the problems not fixed. Clean your OS and reinstall CD Secretary.

Q2:Error message “XXXXX:DatabaseName property is blank.” when program start.

Q3:I can't change the system language or no effect when i changed the language and restart.

Re.Q1, In other case, Use [English] but not [system default] if you out the USA. Because the language code of USA is different with other such as UK.

Q5:Why I can't see the thumbnail?

1.Confirm the image format is checked in options.
2.Confirm the "Add thumbnail for image file" box is checked in create CD wizard.
3.Confirm the thumbnail button is checked in main view.

Q6:Why the thumbnail can not displayed sometimes?

In windows OS, The thumbnail can't displayed when item's count over 1068 in main view and thumbnail size is 160X120, or can't displayed when item's count over 220 in main view and thumbnail size is 320X240. It is limited by OS. we will fix this in feature. so you can change the thumbnail size in main form to improve this question currently.

Q7:Why the thumbnail displayed slowly?

1.More pictures loaded.
2.Large thumbnail size used.
3.Use standard view style in main view.

Q8:Why the database file so large?

1.The thumbnail with 320X240 pixels will uses 45KB space and you can change it in options.
2.More fragments when after clear recycle, you can compact database in main form.

Q9:How do I change the catalog of the CD?

Drag the CD in favorite tree to destination catalog.

Q10:How can I set the cover of a catalog or CD?

Click "Edit"->"Thumbnail"->"Update thumbnail" in main menu.

Q11:Why I can't add more CDs?

10 CDs can added in unregistered edition.
